Typography cases

Changing between different text cases can impact the look and the perceived functionality of the design.

Lowercase

It’s rarely a good idea to use only lowercase unless there is a solid reason to do so, whether it’s a branding thing or anything else. But it’s “rules of thumb” here, not the letter of the law.

Uppercase

UPPERCASE can be a lovely way to provide an exciting variety in your typography mix. Note that UPPER CASE LETTERS will appear to be a font size larger than your otherwise, Sentence-cased friends. It can also be used for smaller titles on lists of things.

Title case

Title Case is great for titles. Make sense, right? But you may experiment with Title Case on your buttons or actions as well. It’s a subtle yet handy differentiator when it comes to handling typography.
